Last week Monday I scrolled past a picture of two lattes on my Instagram timeline. Being that I don’t drink coffee and was not following the page of the post – I was intrigued and in tune with the synchronicities. Of course, I clicked it and was instantly drawn in by the bright yellow chairs in the storefront and the refreshing Instagram page; I had to check it out.
A day later, I drove to Lakou Cafe to see what it’s all about. To my delight – the young lady working at the counter was a pleasant Cancerian like myself; we started a conversation off the bat, and the rest is history. As I write this, it happens to be the fourth time in 2 weeks that I have driven from my home office to work from here.
The drive is completely worth it because everyone that I have met since coming here is up to big things – most notably the 30-year-old co-owner of Lakou Cafe – Cassandre Davilmar who previously worked as an attorney turned investment banker. This is actually business one of two that she and her partner opened this year – the second being a barber shop in LES – Classic Man Barber Lounge.
Special mentions: artist Femme Fuzze, curator Diva Green of I Got Your Black and chef Nicky Marcelin of Epicurious Safari have each engaged me in conversations that encouraged me to think bigger & better!
What I love about it?
